Chileans are eligible for 90day visa-free travel in Vietnam

We have a good news for all Chilean citizens who intend to visit Vietnam. According to a recent agreement signed in between both countries, starting from the 1st August 2017, Chileans travelers who want to travel to Vietnam intend to stay for more than 90 days, will require a visa. However, people with ordinary passports with a validity of 6 months can stay for a maximum period of 90 days, without any visa. The visa waiver doesn’t apply to them thanks to the new agreement. This can come in handy during some long business trips, as filing for a visa frequently can be a time consuming and hectic process.

You can apply for a Visa application at the Vietnamese Embassy in Chile. There will be a step by step process during which you will be required to fill the certain form and submit your documents along with mandatory fees. While submitting the application you will also need to submit your existing Chilean passport with it along with one self-addressed envelope and a passport size photograph. Also, make sure that when you do Apply Vietnam Visa, your passport has a validity of at least 6 months, from the day of departure from Vietnam.

Make note that this is a time-consuming process and you will need to frequently travel in between the embassy and your residence until the procedure is complete. Applying for a Visa directly at the embassy requires the person to be physically present at the facility, which is an obvious hassle if your residence is located far away. Once another drawback of this procedure is that your documents will be forward by post and has a risk factor of getting lost or misplaced while forwarding during the verification process. In a way, it is better to file for a normal Visa.

Once the application is filled and the documents are submitted, it will take the embassy an approximate of 5 days to process and verify your documents. Once complete you will be issued a fully stamped visa within the envelope you previously provided. The major benefit of applying for a visa at the embassy is that you won’t have the headache of renewing it every time the validity is over. But this is only for long term users, who intend to stay for more 90 days or due to long business trips. It certainly benefits the user since the factor of renewal incompletely negated out.

There is another faster alternative to this process and that is the visa on arrival procedure. For this, you will need to contact a trusted travel agent in Vietnam and ask him to make the required arrangements. Following the initial contact, you will have to fill a form online and pay the Visa fees along with the charges of the agent. There will be three options available to you, business, tourist and transit, each offering different intervals of stay at the country.

  1.  The business visa offers a validity of 3 and 6 months.
  2.  The tourist visa offers a validity of 1 month
  3.  The transit visa offers a validity of fewer than 5 days

You can choose your visa based on your priority. For clutch situations, the transit visa is the best, and the rest two speaks for themselves. However, if you’re uncertain as to how long it will take to complete your work during you visit, or if you don’t have a substantiated reason for a visit, then choosing for the non-Visa way is the best for you. You will get 90 days of stay without which should be enough in most cases to get your work done, and when you’re finished you can just return home. The new agreement offers a great deal of flexibility over the other means of visa.

Clothing in Vietnam:

  • The tailors of Vietnam are real fast and perfect with their work with awesome designing. Often they sew materials in two to three days of ordering. For measurement you can pack a shirt from your home and drop it to the tailor’s place with your garment material. Tell them to make the back of the garment an inch wider to prevent skimping on material and make sure to arrange for an early fitting so that any problem can be mended before you leave the city. Most of the shops are located in De Tham Street.
